Seasonal Shift: Crafting Warmth Through Autumn
Share
There’s a time to live outwardly, and a time to turn inward. Just like extroversion and introversion, we all move between these states. We’re ambivalent by nature—shaped not only by how we’re born, but also by what we go through and the environment we live in. Even within a single year, there's a natural rhythm—a gentle shift from summer’s expressive energy to autumn’s grounding calm.

The Wheel of the Year: The Balance We Need to Live
The year turns like a balanced wheel: winter’s stillness, spring’s awakening, summer’s full bloom, and then—autumn. A time to slow down, gather, and look within. Imagine living through four summers in a row—or four winters. Even the most beloved season would eventually lose its charm. Contrast is what gives life depth. Nature is built on balance, and that balance is full of meaning.
Autumn and What It Brings

Autumn reminds us that we cannot endlessly pour out energy the way we do in summer. After three lively months, that stream begins to quiet. And just like nature, we shift too—from outward movement to inner presence. Autumn is the perfect time for stillness, softness, and reflection.
As we begin to harvest what's grown, we also start to gather our thoughts. A quiet reckoning begins. And yes, there’s a slight sadness in losing the sun that used to bathe our days in light, lifting our mood almost effortlessly. So now is the time to build up our inner world—to gather warmth from within. How do we do that?
The Practice of Inner Warmth: Not Magic, But Physics
First, remember this: the light and warmth you’re seeking already live inside you. Everything you’re looking for out there exists within. You just need to look deeper, recognize it—and believe in its power. Think of it like the hearth in ancient homes: people kept the fire alive by slowly feeding it. That’s what we do now—we gently tend to our own fire, keeping it from going out.
Picture this: you're walking the grey streets of the city in the late afternoon. The sky hangs low, it starts to drizzle. And yet—you feel warm inside. Calm. As if a soft golden light is glowing within you. Your steps fall into rhythm, like a quiet metronome guiding you into a more reflective state. If you can’t feel that warmth just yet—start with your steps. Notice their rhythm. Step, breath. Step, breath. Just you, the pavement, and the soft bounce of your walk. You don't need to count them. Just feel.

Let your eyes relax. Don’t grab onto anything around you—vision is the sense that consumes the most energy. To truly rest, we must soften our gaze. Slow your thoughts. Turn off the inner monologue for just a few moments. Just you, the street, your breath, and the warmth inside you.
Soon, you'll feel that warmth gathering around your solar plexus, right in the center of your being. Watch how it spreads gently through your body. Let it grow. Stay with it. It fills you from within, bringing calm and confidence. Strength that doesn’t shout—but sustains you.
How It Works
Once you experience this feeling, you’ll want to return to it. And with time, it becomes a practice. You’ll learn how to access it whenever you need it. Every time you check in with yourself, you’ll build more strength—quiet, grounded strength.

We often feed our anxiety with thoughts. So why not feed our vitality instead? One of the laws of the universe says: you are where your attention is. And attention not only magnifies what it touches—it can also transform it.
Remember that famous experiment in quantum physics? Electromagnetic waves would instantly change form and behave like particles as soon as someone observed them. They became visible, measurable—real—at the very moment attention was given. That’s what happens in life, too. Whatever you choose to focus on—that’s what grows.
So the real question is: what do you choose to strengthen?
And Finally...
Tending to your inner warmth is never selfish. It’s how you stay alive. How you stay you. When you gather enough of that energy, you naturally begin to radiate it. Without effort. Like Wi-Fi, it reaches those closest to you—your family, your loved ones.

Because we all sense someone’s state before we hear their words or see their actions. You can decorate your home for comfort—but the deepest warmth will always come from within. From you.
Nurture your warmth, and this autumn may surprise you.
